This is the Web Site of the Prospector's and Miners Accociation of Victoria. The PMAV is the reason we in Victoria have access to so much of our forests for detecting and prospecting. We have been members for quite some time and we cannot recommend highy enough the value of being a member. If you're serious about detecting in Victoria have a look at their web site.

The site below links you to the Western Australian equivalent of the Victorian PMAV. It is APLA. They are the peak body in the West and do an amazing job to support and further the rights of Prospector's, Small Scale Miner's and Lease Holder's. If you are going to prospect in Western Australia, you should become a member.

The Northern Territory association is called PADIANT; Prospectors and Detectorists Assoc Inc NT.
Graham McMahon is the head of this great orginasition and they have done some excellent work for us prospectors over the past few years.

New South Wales and the Australian Capitol Territory now has their own Association to promote and encourage prospecting and fossicking in both NSW and ACT. They are called, NSW & ACT Prospectors and Fossickers Association Inc or NAPFA If you are a prospector in NSW or the ACT we strongly encourage you to become a member. We would also recommend prospectors from accross Australia to support their cause.
They are working hard to get more areas open for our hobby.
